Cape Hope Building Supply – Returns Policy

1. Delivery Area and Fees

  • Free delivery is available within 80 km of Cape Town, South Africa.

  • Orders beyond 80 km are subject to a delivery fee. Customers must contact Cape Hope Building Supply to confirm the shipping cost before placing an order. Orders placed without prior confirmation may be cancelled at our discretion.

2. Delivery Timeframe

  • Deliveries within 80 km are completed within 2–5 business days.

  • Smaller orders may require the full 5 business days to schedule.

  • Delivery timeframes are estimates only. Cape Hope Building Supply is not responsible for losses or penalties arising from delayed delivery.

3. Risk and Ownership

  • Risk of loss and ownership transfer to the customer at the time of delivery, as recorded by signature or photo confirmation from our logistics partner, Protech Building Products.

  • Customers must ensure that someone is available to receive and inspect the goods at the delivery address.

4. Delivery Exclusions

  • Cape Hope Building Supply is not liable for delays caused by factors outside our control, including strikes, weather, transport disruptions, customs delays, or force majeure events.

5. Delivery Access and Conditions

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the delivery location. Additional charges may apply if special handling or re-delivery is required due to inaccessible sites or failed delivery attempts.

6. Damaged Products and Claims

  • If goods are damaged upon delivery, customers must:

    1. Take clear photographs of the product and packaging immediately.

    2. Notify Cape Hope Building Supply within 24 hours of delivery.

    3. Retain the product, packaging, and all contents in original condition until inspection or resolution.

  • Valid claims will be resolved by replacement only, subject to stock availability. Refunds are not provided.

7. Returns and Exchanges

  • Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery for unused products only. Clear photos of the product are required for approval.

  • Special or custom orders are non-returnable unless defective.

  • Opened or partially used adhesives, primers, screeds, or products with health/safety risks are non-returnable.

  • Defective products may be returned within 6 months and are subject to inspection or testing before approval for replacement.

  • Customers are responsible for return logistics and associated fees, which will be deducted from any refund.

  • Refunds are only issued when a replacement or exchange is not possible.

8. Product Handling After Delivery

  • Customers are responsible for proper storage and handling of products after delivery. Cape Hope Building Supply is not liable for damage, spoilage, or degradation caused by improper storage, including exposure to moisture, heat, or contamination.

9. Customer Measurements and Orders

  • Customers are responsible for providing accurate measurements and quantities. Cape Hope Building Supply is not liable for over-ordering, under-ordering, or incorrect specifications provided by the customer.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • Liability is limited to replacement or refund value of the product only. Cape Hope Building Supply is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

11. Policy Changes

  • Cape Hope Building Supply reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time without prior notice.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

  • This policy is governed by the laws of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Cape Town, Western Cape.

13. Acceptance of Terms

  • By purchasing from Cape Hope Building Supply or using our services, customers acknowledge and agree to this Delivery & Returns Policy.
